KARACHI: Circumstances are being created which will lead to the accountability of journalists in both print and electronic media. According to a source, In this accountability process, media owners will also be brought to justice to explain how they have become millionaires and billionaires.
According to a source, after conclusion of current case of Arsalan Iftikhar, son of the honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan, the process of accountability of journalists and owners of media organisations will begin.
Working journalists will be asked to furnish their financial statements in comparison to the salary they are withdrawing, whereas media owners will be asked to furnish their financial statements according to the advertisements they have received both from government and the private sector.
It is expected that after the accountability of the fourth pillar of the state, the media, the people of Pakistan will be in better position to judge the credibility of the media owners along with print and electronic media journalists.
